About Our Team

We’re a small but mighty team working in Milwaukee’s vibrant Walker’s Point neighborhood.

Rosheen Styczinski, FASLA

Principal/Landscape Architect
The founder and design principal of New Eden Landscape Architecture, Rosheen brings more than 30 years of experience and insights to her innovative work. She’s a national leader in the field, and her award-winning projects can be found across the Milwaukee metro and beyond.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture (with honors), 
University of Wisconsin–Madison; Certificate in Water Technology-Green Infrastructure
, University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee; Certificate in Healthcare Garden Design, Chicago Botanic Garden School.

Specialties: Green infrastructure design, including green roofs and urban sustainable site design; construction management; healing and therapeutic gardens.

Awards: 2016 Best Project of the Year from the Milwaukee Business Journal Real Estate Awards; 2012 American Top Ten COTE (Committee on the Environment) Award from the American Institute of Architects; 2006 Mayor’s Urban Design Award from the City of Milwaukee.

Fun fact: In 2003, Rosheen was nominated and inducted as a Fellow in the American Society of Landscape Architects for her national contributions to the profession. She has served as the Professional Practice Network chair and a national media contact for ASLA.

Dana Schumacher, ASLA

Landscape Architect
Dana is passionate about designing great spaces and landscapes that blend both human and natural worlds into a seamless balance. During her nearly two decades in the field, she has shown an innate talent for creating life-enriching spaces that connect people with their environments. She strives to design outdoor spaces that are adaptable, easy to navigate, satisfying and perfect for making memories.

Education: Bachelor of Environmental Design, University of Minnesota; Master of Landscape Architecture, University of Minnesota.

Specialties: Corporate campus and retail layouts; urban plazas and streetscapes; parks and trails; green roofs; courtyards; nature playgrounds; rain gardens.

Notable project: One of Dana’s favorite design challenges was incorporating an ADA-accessible pathway through all levels of a public amphitheatre space. Dana won an ASLA Merit Award from the Minnesota chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects for her thoughtful design solution.

Fun fact: Dana is a native of Minnesota and a 4-H Club leader.

Jennifer O’Leary | LEED AP

Project Coordinator & Designer
Throughout her 20+year career, Jennifer has been a jack of all trades. She is a highly skilled designer and planner who has overseen a variety of notable public works projects, including scholastic and municipal campus, park, streetscape and facility design. Her expertise in urban and site planning principles and processes ensures that New Eden’s projects run smoothly.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture, University of Wisconsin–Madison; Bachelor of Science in Zoology, University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee; Basic and Advanced Wetland Delineation Training, University of Wisconsin–La Crosse; Certificate in Management, Marquette University
; LEED Accredited Professional,
U.S. Green Building Council.

Specialties: As a LEED-accredited professional, Jennifer is an expert in green infrastructure and sustainable storm water management.

Notable projects: Adventure Africa Elephant Exhibit for the Milwaukee County Zoo; Discovery Playground Renovation for University of Wisconsin–Madison; Menomonee River Parkway for Milwaukee County Parks; Hank Aaron State Trail, Three Bridges Park for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

Fun fact: Jennifer’s grant-writing proposals have won her municipal clients more than $250,000 in state and federal environmental grants.
